Which hotel is best?

Which hotel is best for two nights in Oct.? We can get reservations at the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa-Newport building or the Acadia Inn. Both offer a nice continental breakfast each morning and seem to be close to restaurants and Acadia National Park. Thanks!!

The Bar Harbor Inn is very nice -- right on the water, beautiful grounds, close to everything, yet tucked away a bit, good sunrise views.

There is a big difference between these two hotels. The Bar Harbor Inn is located in downtown Bar Harbor and is on the water. The Acadia Inn is located about 1 mile outside of the village area and across the road from the ocean. The Bar Harbor Inn is also a much larger hotel.

Either location is close to restaurants and Acadia. If you prefer walking to lunch/dinner, maybe the Bar Harbor Inn would be better, but it would be a very short drive from the Acadia Inn.

My vote is for the Bar Harbor Inn. The rooms at the Newport Building are pretty standard, however, the Inn is right on the shore path so you cannot beat the location. Also, we love their continental breakfast. It%26#39;s set in a large room overlooking the ocean, the selection of food is large and their cinnamon coffee cake is to die for. If the weather is nice you can get your tray of food and sit outside on the porch overlooking the water. You can%26#39;t beat it.

The Bar Harbor Inn is truly a special place with a tremendous location, lovely rooms, a friendly and helpful staff, and exceptional food. We have stayed there perhaps a dozen times and each visit has been delightful.

cannot beat lunch on the lawn at the bar harbor inn. just be sure you know the cruise ship schedule and try to avoid the area at that time. it is the first stop for many cruisers. does your room have a balcony with an ocean view? a MUST in my opinion.

the spa is a real treat as well. my wife has sun allergy and the woman working the spa gave her creams which have virtually eliminated that problem. great investment for the results.
