We would like to visit Maine in mid October. Is this the best time to see the fall colors? When do the leaves change?
Best time to see Fall Colors
Peak fall foliage is variable each year due to weather. Also not uniform throughout Maine (a big state).
*Usually* peak is plus/minus Columbus Day (or at least this is peak visiting time).
You can get specific foliage reports by zone on the Maine Tourism dept. website (don%26#39;t have link handy right now).
