The drive is about 1 1/2 hours. But here is the information for catching a boat to Monhegan. You should call for their schedule. And Boothbay Harbor is the closest harbor from Portland for catching the boat.

I was thinking New Harbor to Monhegan b/c I%26#39;d heard that it is nearest Pemaquid Point, and that Pemaquid is worth a visit. I thought we%26#39;d go to Pemaquid and then over to Monhegan.

Please let me know if you have a different perspective!

I would definitely suggest New Harbor - it%26#39;s a neat place (great lobster shack right there) and less touristy than Boothbay.
