First time to Portland, Need Advice.

I have booked my hotel at the Paramount Hotel in Portland on Southwest Taylor street. I was reading some topics on here and there%26#39;s a old portland and new portland? I%26#39;m not sure which part i am staying.

This is my first time going with my boyfriend. We will be staying for 2 days (the long easter weekend). Any recommendations to where to eat, see, and shop?

I did a bit of research online. But would like more feedback.

Also the hotel is charging $28 a night for parking. Is there anywhere else cheaper?
